Children's Holiday Print Workshops 22nd-24th & 28th-30th August 10am-Noon
Easy Squeegee Kids returns to the Chocolate Factory this summer with some fun two hour print workshops. Aimed at 8-12 years. 6 days of inky fun. Each session will involve playful experimentation and a chance to print something unique to take home and wear, carry or hang on the wall, the themes are very loose and just a spring board for ideas to flow and grow. Starting with morning sessions from 10am-12noon. If the sessions fill up I will open up an afternoon session 2-4pm following the same theme as the morning. Please see the drop down box for dates. 6 children per class, so nice and small with lots of help to develop their ideas.
Day 1 - 22nd August: Make your own block prints and repeating patterns. Making simple foam printing shapes - lots of stamping and mark making fun - children will produce a variety of experimental works on paper and a final design on a bag, t-shirt or pencil case.
Day 2 - 23rd August: Screen printing and collage creations. A quick way to build up a variety of coloured papers using screen printing techniques. Children will experiment with tape and stickers and will use these printed papers to make Matisse inspired collages - good enough to hang on the wall!
Day 3 - 24th August: Monoprint madness. Screen printing with a rainbow of colours directly on to the screen - drawing from nature and still life props. Children can choose to print a bag or t-shirt.
Day 4 - 28th August: Font fun. Looking at typography and graphic design to screenprint their own graphic logos on to a t-shirt or tote bag using paper cut stencils.
Day 5 - 29th August: Oceans of Blue - Screen printing multi-layers. Using paper cuts, tape and stickers to create their own original print on a bag or t-shirt. Inspired by the big blue sea and all it's inhabitants.
Day 6 - 30th August: Nature trail/anything goes - taking inspiration from our natural environment and beyond - this is an expressive session of paper cutting and drawing to produce unique screen prints on a bag or t-shirt.
I have plenty of books and props at the studio but if there is anything your child wants to bring along to the session to draw from, that's fine too.
